Kings and queens of the underground es el título del primer disco de Billy Idol en casi una década. Un álbum producido por Trevor Horn (Buggles, Seal, Yes, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda, Pet Shop Boys, Simple Minds), que también ha tocado el bajo; Geoff Downes, el ex-compañero de Horn en los Buggles, toca teclados. La guitarra del habitual Steve Stevens.
También ha participado el productor Greg Kurstin (Katy Perry, Sia) en un par de canciones.
