String theory es un álbum de Hanson, con la colaboración en los arreglos de cuerda de David Campbell (también para la gira presentación), grabados en Praga.
Producido por Hanson, se incluyen tanto temas inéditos ("Reaching for the sky", "Battle cry", "Breaktown", "No rest for the weary") como otros con nuevos arreglos para orquesta sinfónica ("MmmBop", "Where's the love", "This time around"). Mezclas de Jim Scott (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Wilco, Sting). En las nuevas grabaciones con la colaboración como ingeniero de Craig Alvin (Kacey Musgraves).
