Jones ha deleitado audiencias teatrales regionalmente y Off-Broadway. En Broadway trabajó en "Rise and Fall of Little Voice", "The Goodbye Girl", "The Iceman Cometh", "Hurlyburly", "Otherwise Engaged", entre otras.

John Christopher Jones estudió en el London Academy of Music and Drama después de recibir su licenciatura en Amherst College.
