En los créditos de composición aparecen los tres artistas junto a James Napier, Mikkel S. Eriksen y Tor Erik Hermansen. En los de producción Stargate, Jimmy Napes, Anju Blaxx y el propio Sam Smith.
Descrito por Smith como "¡sucio!", es una llamada a los amantes. "Jessie y yo estábamos borrachxs, bebiendo whisky en Jamaica, a las dos de la mañana, corriendo por ahí, como dos amigxs riéndose, es una canción muy sensual". Así nació 'Gimme'.
