monster v.1 es la pista de cierre y segundo avance del álbum Monsters de Tom Odell (2021). Con un estribillo -"solo eres un monstruo y no te tengo miedo"- en un principio inspirado en Trump, y más específicamente, en la activista Greta Thumberg mirándolo fijamente en la Cumbre del Clima de las Naciones Unidas de 2019, la canción pronto se convirtió en algo más abstracto; un mantra de autoayuda para Odell en su continua batalla contra la ansiedad. "En 2019, mi ansiedad empeoró tanto que tuve que dejar de hacer música por un tiempo. Hubo un periodo en el que sentía que si salía de casa tendría un ataque de pánico. Escribí esta canción, 'monster', como un intento por superar mi dificultad con esos problemas de salud mental. Me entristece mucho escucharla en algunos momentos porque me hace recordar tiempos difíciles, pero estoy muy orgulloso de ella y espero que encuentre eco en las personas que se enfrentan a luchas similares. La primera versión de la canción se publica en su forma más pura, que yo quería que escucharais primero, ya que la letra significa mucho para mí".
