Bright star es el segundo corte y primer anticipo de un álbum homónimo de Anaïs Mitchell (2022).
"Durante el primer verano de la pandemia me quedé en la granja familiar donde crecí, en una casita que perteneció a mis abuelos cuando estaban vivos", dijo Mitchell, explicando que se mudó a Vermont desde Brooklyn. "Pude ver las estrellas por primera vez en mucho tiempo. No estaba viajando a ninguna parte, ni siquiera estaba haciendo mucho, por primera vez en mucho tiempo.
