Rain on the graves es el segundo single del álbum The mandrake project de Bruce Dickinson (2024).
Con un video que presenta a la banda de Bruce en acción, compuesta por el guitarrista Roy Z, el batería Dave Moreno, la bajista Tanya O'Callaghan y el teclista Mistheria. Grabado íntegramente en un invernal Cornualles, con el director Ryan Mackfall, donde podemos ver a Bruce actuando, haciendo de predicador, maquinando su propio pacto con el diablo y arrastrando a su 'House Band from Hell' al trato.
Inspirada en una visita a la tumba del poeta romántico William Wordsworth en Lake District en un día de lluvia. La canción es una reflexión, que muchos músicos han llegado a notar, por su trato con el Diablo, y que parte de la década de 1930, cuando Robert Johnson (el Rey del Delta del Blues) lo empezó a mostrar en sus composiciones.
"Tenía la letra del estribillo desde que visité Grasmere en una boda en 2012", explica Bruce, "...y años después no fue difícil terminar la canción con tantas imágenes que aún mantenía en mi cabeza!".
