Let it all go en principio se anunciaba como un primer avance de cara al lanzamiento de un tercer álbum de Birdy, previsto para 2016. Una canción haciendo un dueto con Rhodes. El tema en cuestión aparece al final en el álbum debut del chico, Wishes (2015).
Co-producido por James Kenosha y Dan Grech-Marguerat (Radiohead, Brett Anderson), la admiración mutua hizo que dos jovenes talentos como Birdy y Rhodes se llegaran a conocer. En palabras de Birdy "(...) Me resulta hermosa la mezcla de fuerza y fragilidad que hay en la voz de David (...)".
