Starstruck es una canción sobre la conexión y el cosmos de Years & Years, convertido en un proyecto en solitario de Olly Alexander.
Comenta Olly: "surgió una noche en un estudio a las afueras de Londres. No me acordaba de la última vez que había visto tantas estrellas juntas, porque no tienes la oportunidad cuando vives en la ciudad. Como todos tuvimos que parar, solo quería salir y bailar. Así que puse toda esa energía contenida en la música. ‘Starstruck’ es el subidón que sientes cuando estás con alguien que de verdad te gusta, es como agarrarte a esa sensación tan buena y no dejarla escapar. Como todos los demás, me he pasado el año entero metido en casa, y he querido crear algo muy positivo y divertido para la gente y para mi. No importa lo que hagamos o lo que seamos en esta vida, creo que todos nos merecemos tres minutos de éxtasis interestelar".
Lanzamiento el 8 de abril de 2021. Estreno del video oficial 4 días después.
El 21 de mayo de 2021 se estrena un remix con Kylie Minogue. "Esta nueva versión de ‘Starstruck’", dice Olly, "es un sueño hecho realidad. Kylie es un icono que me ha inspirado desde que empezara a hacer música, así es que esto es extraordinario. ¡¡¡Le pregunté si le interesaba participar en el tema y estoy muy agradecido de que accediese!!! Estoy en una nube desde entonces, porque ha aportado muchísimo a la canción, su voz es divina y su presencia mágica. Espero que la gente disfrute de este momento de fantasía cósmica, ¡me siento por las nubes!".
El 11 de junio de 2021 se estrena el video de una versión acústica.
