Se celebró la gran fiesta de los BET Awards 2022 con Taraji P. Henson como maestra de ceremonias. Partía Doja Cat con 6 con el mayor número de candidaturas, aunque finalmente se quedó en blanco en cuanto a premios. Como grandes triunfadores con dos galardones Silk Sonic -incluido álbum del año por 'An evening with Silk Sonic'-, Kendrick Lamar y Tems. Anderson .Paak, que forma Silk Sonic junto a Bruno Mars, sumó incluso un tercer trofeo en la categoría de director de videos del año.
